Stamford Bridge is the venue for the game of the season so far, as Chelsea welcome Liverpool to the capital ahead of their Merseyside counterparts only on goal difference at the Premier League summit.
Given schedulers have to account for the fact a number of clubs played in the Uefa Cup on Thursday, Saturday's forthcoming fixtures look slim in relation to what follows on Sunday.
That said Saturday's Wear-Tyne derby between Sunderland and Newcastle can hardly be bettered as an appetiser ahead of the main course between the league leaders a day later.
Joe Kinnear may have turned the air blue in the press box but whatever he has been saying to his players has clearly had the desired effect, as two battling draws against Everton and Manchester City have drawn praise from even his staunchest detractors.
